The Prayer Platform

How to Use a Social Space for Meaningful Interactions

So you are on one or many social platforms, and it feels great. Be it the FOMO (fear of missing out) or just wanting to catch up. You are glad you can connect with friends and family from afar.

Google the reasons to have a social media space, and you will find the following:

  • Instant online discussions
  • Relationship building
  • Knowledge Sharing
  • Low cost means feeling close
  • Connect at any time

But does having a social place just stop at these simple purposes?

- No.

You can find scores of information that may or may not be related to what you need to know, which can pose a severe hazard.

Norton’s blogs have covered a wide range of possible threats to everyone with a social presence. Some of them include the following:

  • Likejacking/clickjacking
  • Fake giveaways
  • Unbelievable news that’s really malware
  • Fake friends or followers
  • Catfishing/dating scams
  • Cyberbullying and abuse
  • Fake apps loaded with viruses or real apps that will sell your data

You cannot entirely be safe while using these public platforms, let alone the collateral damage you will be doing to yourself in terms of the endless hours spent aimlessly scrolling and the lack of productivity.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:23 – “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.”

We cannot substitute the time spent in prayer with anything else, but we can use other medians to leverage it. This way, we can use everything we have, including our time, efforts, and devices, for His divine purpose.

It’s easy to get distracted from prayer while using a social space that holds both good and evil. And besides, “Good and bad do not belong together. Light and darkness cannot share together.” – 2 Corinthians 6: 14

As Christians, we need to use our time consciously or at least spend our leisure building meaningful conversations. This is entirely up to us; to make it happen, we must stay distraction-free. This will mean we cut cords with everything harmful to our spiritual walk with Christ.

Being part of a platform that enables us to get closer to our faith in Christ, share renewed faith through powerful testimonials and experiences from fellow Christians, and mainly get to intercede with them for their wants and needs is what every Christian should focus on doing in these last days.

We need to stay united and fight even more strongly towards spreading the word of hope and building an ecosystem conducive to prayer.

As Paul says in Ephesians 5:16 – “Make the best use of the time because the days are evil.”

The Ark Connect app is a Bible-based app that allows Bible-based Christians to stay connected in the last days in prayer from all across the globe. It is intended to be a safe place for believers to make meaningful conversations, share encouraging testimonies, and support fellow church members looking for hope and reassurance.

Let us strive to be the light that outshines the darkness around us with our faith and purpose in Christ and through the proper and adequate use of our devices. We see this app as an end-day revival amidst the churches and encourage every believer to participate in the platform.
